SAVE THE FUTURE OF KATELIOS!

help us stop the big port

Silvia and Sonia from Italy, September 2007

silvia and sonia together in the caveCIAO BELLI!
When we first arrived at the campsite in Katelios our impression was a bit strong because it was very simple and spartan. everything was new: Katelios, nature, living in a tent without comforts but especially there were people from all the world! When we did our first excavation together it was wonderful because we felt like midwives ;-) ... all that life in our hands! During the excavation we found 20 little babies and it was so exciting! Every shift was a good opportunity to know each other better and talk about that experience. We started to appreciate the sea, walking on the beach or on the rocks on the way to Mounda and Koroni beach. We fell in love with Katelios, with the seaside but above all with the campsite. We arrived in Katelios with a lot of dreams and hopes about life and turtles thinking that once home this experience would make us richer inside. Life at the campsite has made us appreciate how simple life can be so beautiful and how little you need to feel good. The turtles and everything done to save the environment impressed us so much that we will never forget it and above all we will never forget all the people we met in this adventure. This experience makes you grow inside even if you are not searching for that. It is a good opportunity to understand how you can relate to other kinds of people but above all it's about responsibility. Only if you care about what you are doing can you do it well and make it better. It's a way to prove yourself and when you enter this world you'll really realize that there's something so much bigger than you and it leaves you without breath, so strong and real. You'll learn that all you can do is only help to make things better and to let nature take its own course. Now we know that with hope and positivity we can make the world a better place! Everything can change, but only if you really want. we will never forget you Katelios!

Silvia and Sonia don't mention this here, but they didn't know each other before coming to Kefalonia and became such good friends in Katelios that they wrote the story together.
