We ask from each volunteer a small contribution to the group.
This is a small contribution in the form of donation for the
maintenance of the work of the Katelios Group.
The Katelios Group cannot provide any kind of financial
support to the volunteers.
Volunteers have to pay for all their expenses, which include food, trip
and personal insurance.
Accommodation is
provided by the Group in shared rented rooms, very close to
the main nesting beach.
The minimum stay is one month, because of the training that volunteers need in the beginning.
With a kitty food costs can be quite low. Budget to spend 30 Euros per week minimum with this system, more if you cook for yourself. Forming a kitty and cooking common meals is left up to the volunteers.
You should also budget some money for all your personal expenses. You can change traveller's cheques in some shops in Katelios, but they will take a commission. You can use your bank card in Skala (7 km), but the cash machine is not always working. There are bank machines also in Argostoli, where you will have a chance to go at some point. It is better to come with at least some money in cash.
